The Woman in Black is Stephen Mallatratt's adaptation of Susan Hill's best-selling novel. Premiered in 1987 as a low-budget studio show at the Stephen Joseph Theatre in the Round, it transferred to London two years later where it has become the second running West End show after Agatha Christie's The Mousetrap.
